CAIRO – 9 December 2023: Regional and international missions observing the 2024 Presidential Elections, scheduled for December 10-12, have praised Egypt’s commitment to ensuring a transparent electoral process.
The missions made the remarks on Saturday in a press conference organized by the National Election Authority (NEA) for NGOs, regional and international missions participating in supervising the upcoming election.
Teams from the African Union, Arab League, Arab Parliament, and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean asserted their great commitment to observing the Egyptian elections.
Meanwhile, President of the Arab Parliament Adel Alasoomi said the parliament has prepared a large follow-up group to observe the elections.
During the press conference, National Election Authority’s Executive Director Ahmed Bendari said the sub-polling stations nationwide are well-prepared to receive voters starting Sunday.
Egypt is geared up for holding the 2024 Presidential Elections a few days after the three-day voting process for Egyptians abroad was concluded.
The marathon is held between four contenders, including incumbent President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party Farid Zahran, President of Al Wafd Party Abdel-Sanad Yamama, and President of the Republican People's Party Hazem Omar.
The four candidates have released their vision to improve people’s lives in the coming six-year presidential term.
The final result will be announced on December 18 if no run-off is required. Voting inside the country will take place from 10-12 December.
