CAIRO - 6 December 2023: Four tugboats are towing a cargo ship that hit Martyr Ahmed Mansy Floating Bridge causing navigation in the New Suez Canal to stop.
‘One Orpheus’ was crossing the waterway within the southern convoy heading from Singapore to the Netherlands, a press statement released by the Suez Canal Authority indicated.
The length and width of the vessel are 336 meters and 46 meters, respectively. As for its capacity, it is 101,000 tons.
The accident is caused by a malfunction in the steering wheel, and it occurred at the 74th kilometer marking.
