CAIRO – 5 December 2024: Telecom Egypt company announced that Internet services were affected in some areas around the country, Tuesday as a result of a technical malfunction that affected one of the main network devices.
It said that its teams have repaired the fault and service is being restored gradually. Service expected to be fully restored in the coming hours, according to the company.
Engineer Mohamed Abu Talib, Vice President of Telecom Egypt, confirmed that the company will compensate all customers, after the interruption of the Internet service, but is only waiting for the service to be restored in all governorates to begin compensating citizens for the interruption.
He added, in televised statements, that the company has already worked to fix the technical fault in one of the main cables, and service has already begun to be restored in some areas, but service has not been restored in all areas yet.
Abu Talib explained that once full service is restored in all governorates, users will be compensated.
