262 jets land in Arish International Airport carrying 7K tons of aid to Gaza

CAIRO – 5 December 2023: Chief of the Egyptian Red Crescent Khaled Zayed stated Sunday that 262 aid jets carrying shipments weighing 7,000 tons had landed in Arish International Airport and delivered by Egypt to Gaza Strip.

 

Those were sent by Kuwait, Turkey, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Algeria, Jordan, Iraq, Indonesia, France, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bahrain, United Kingdom, Brazil, Tunisia, Venezuela, India, Kenya, Colombia, Malaysia, Greece, Libya, Turkmenistan, Poland, Denmark, Oman, Chechnya, and Belgium.

 

Head of the State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan detailed on November 28 the size of aid that entered Gaza since the outbreak of fighting on October 7 through Egypt's Rafah Border Crossing.

 

It amounted to 11,427 tons of food; 8,583 tons of water; 2,812 tons of medical supplies; 2,418 tons of various types of equipment; 1,048 tons of fuel; and, 127 tents. The shipments were carried on 2,263 trucks, and were contributed by 80 percent by Egypt.

 

With regard to the movement of individuals, 8,691 foreigners and Palestinian dual nationals transited in Egypt before their departure to their homelands. On the other hand, 421 Palestinians stuck in Egypt returned to Gaza.

 

Also, Egypt received 566 injured Palestinians, along with 300 companions, so they would receive treatment at local hospitals. Those are mostly children, and include 28 premature children. Moreover, 1,256 Palestinian-Egyptian nationals left Gaza to Egypt.
