CAIRO – 5 November 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry headed Tuesday to Washington to meet a number of Congress members in the framework of reinforcing bilateral strategic relations.
The minister is also set to meet with representatives of various think-tanks and hold press interviews. Later, Shokry will join on Thursday the Arab-Islamic Delegation, which will meet with the U.S. Secretary of State, Congress members, and media personnel to push for ending the ongoing war in Gaza Strip.
The delegation comprises the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria, Palestine, as well as the secretaries of the Arab League (AL) and the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
It held in November a tour to a number of permanent member states of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in order to push forward endeavors aimed at ending the ongoing war in Gaza Strip and dealing with the deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
They met counterparts from China, Russia, and the United Kingdom, and concluded the tour by a meeting with the French president.
