Egypt’s Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces meets with several military leaders on sidelines of EDEX 2023 defense exhibition- press photo
CAIRO – 4 December 2023: Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mohamed Zaki met with Madagascar's Minister of National Defense Josoa Rakotoarijaona and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMA) Sahivelo Lala Monja Delphin, said the Egyptian Ministry of Defense in a statement on Monday.
The meeting, which was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Osama Askar, was held on the sidelines of the first day of EDEX 2023 defense exhibition, which convenes until December 7.
Egypt’s Minister of defense Mohamed Zaki welcomed on Monday all ‘guests of Egypt’ participating in the third edition of the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2023).
In his speech at the inauguration EDEX 2023, Zaki affirmed that Egypt was and still is a ‘meeting point’ for all peace-loving countries in order to unify efforts, contain the pace of conflicts, and formulate a common reality in which everyone enjoys peace and achieve common interests.
Zaki noted that through EDEX 2023 exhibition, Egypt worked with all countries to display the latest findings of science and countries regarding armament and defense systems.
EDEX also showcases modern technologies and latest advanced capabilities in defense systems, along with working to deepening partnership and cooperation with friendly and partner countries, Zaki said.
Egypt’s Minister of defense stressed that The Armed Forces will always remain a 'faithful guardian' for this country, bearing in mind that ‘whoever possesses the keys to power is the one who is able to make peace.’
Zaki shed light on the harsh international conditions and global events, especially the “extremely dangerous and sensitive curve that the Palestinian issue is witnessing”.
He said that the current escalations in Gaza strip aims at ‘Imposing a reality that leads to the liquidating the Palestinian cause.’
Zaki explained that peace eventually must have a ‘power to protect it’.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi attended the inauguration of the third edition of the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2023) Monday.
Representatives of Egyptian and international companies specialized in defense industries are showcasing their advanced equipment, technology and security systems at the exhibition.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki, as well as several ministers and senior state officials, attended the inauguration of the EDEX 2023.
During the inauguration, Sisi witnessed the launching of Egyptian frigate "Al Jabbar" via video conference as part of proceedings of opening Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX2023), taking place from December 4-7 at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC).
EDEX attracts military personnel, government officials, industry professionals, and international delegations. EDEX features a fully-hosted international military VIP Delegation Program.
The event features over 400 of the leading defense and security companies from around the world, showcasing the latest military technology, equipment and systems across land, sea and air
EDEX is organized by Arabian World Events with the full support the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Military Production.
It attracts 35,000 military and industry visitors from across the world.
The International Defense Industries Exhibition “EDEX 2023” Kicked off Monday in its 3rd session, which will be hosted in Egypt during the period from 4 to 7 December, at the Egypt International Center for International Exhibitions and Conferences.
