CAIRO – 4 Decamber2024: Egypt's Ministry of Military Production Monday signed on Monday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) on creating strategic partnerships that would benefit both sides.
Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah Eldin Mostafa probed with GAMI Governor Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Ohali ways of boosting cooperation between the two sides in various industrialization spheres.
This came at a meeting between Mostafa and Ohali at the pavilion of the Military Production Ministry at the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2023), which kicked off Monday in Egypt and runs till December 7, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The minister said the meeting falls within the framework of keenness of both sides on fostering strategic partnership in all domains.
The minister accompanied the governor of the GAMI in a tour of the Ministry of Military Production's pavilion where they reviewed the latest military products of arms, equipment and ammunition.
Mostafa, also reviewed the industrialization, technological and technical capabilities of companies and units that are affiliates of the Military Production Ministry and taking part in the third edition of the EDEX 2023.
Meanwhile, Ohali hailed the strength of time-honored and diversified relations at all levels with the Egyptian side.
The GAMI governor highlighted the shared desire of both sides regarding the necessity of giving impetus to bilateral relations in the industrial and economic domains.
He further expressed hope that the meeting would open new vistas of investment and cooperation between the outstanding firms of Egypt’s Military Productions Ministry and reciprocal Saudi companies.
The third edition of the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2023) inaugurated earlier Monday, in the presence of president Sisi.
Representatives of Egyptian and international companies specialized in defense industries are showcasing their advanced equipment, technology and security systems at the exhibition.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki, as well as several ministers and senior state officials, attended the inauguration of the EDEX 2023.
