CAIRO - 2 December 2023: The National Elections Authority (NEA) said in a Saturday press conference that all notices from embassies around the world have been answered.
Ahmed Bandari, Director of the Executive Office of NEA, said voters can now vote with a photocopy of their national ID, with ambassadors verifying the identity of the voter.
The presidential elections will continue in 103 polling stations around the world, while one polling station, which is New Zealand, is closed.
Bandary held a video conference call with a number of Egyptian ambassadors and consulates abroad to follow up on the progress of the electoral process for Egyptians abroad.
The Egyptian ambassadors confirmed that there were no problems or obstacles they faced in managing the NEA’s work.
The National Elections Authority formed a central operations room equipped with live television broadcasting technology to follow up on Egyptians abroad casting their votes in electoral centers inside the headquarters of diplomatic missions, including embassies and consulates around the world.
The electoral process is being conducted outside Egypt in 137 embassies and consulates in 121 countries around the world.
