CAIRO – 28 November 2023: A well-informed source told Al Qahera News that officials from Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Israel would meet Tuesday in Doha to discuss the extension of the current temporary ceasefire in Gaza.
The channel later reported that the chief of Egypt's General Intelligence Directorate had arrived in the Qatari capital to meet with the chiefs of CIA and Mossad.
The ceasefire began on Friday and was due to last for four days. Yet, it was extended for two additional days on the condition that Hamas releases 10 hostages on each day in exchange for 30 Palestinians detained in Israelis prisons.
The terms of the original deal included exchanging 50 Israeli hostages for 150 Palestinian detainees over the four days, as well as increasing the flow of aid to Gaza Strip and allowing its entry to the northern section. It is noted that the captives released by both sides are women and children aged below 19.
Hamas held hostage 120 civilians and 119 soldiers. On the other hand, Israel has been detaining around 5,000 Palestinians.
