President of Burundi visits MWL headquarters

CAIRO – 27 November 2023: The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, visited the headquarters of the Muslim World League in Riyadh, where he was received by the MWL’s Secretary General, Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.

During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed, including means of enhancing the civilizational dialogue for attaining a more understanding and peaceful world, and more coexistent and harmonious societies.

His Majesty the Burundian president appreciated the MWL's initiatives and international activities aiming at supporting harmony and peace in countries of religious and ethnic diversity, and the efforts exerted to promote stability and development in the African continent.

Afterwards, His Eminence the Secretary General, on behalf of the MWL, hosted a dinner for His Excellency the President and his accompanying delegation to celebrate the visit of his Majesty.

It is worth noting that the MWL had previously announced the launch of its office in the Republic of Burundi to supervise its projects there.
