In coordination with Egypt, Qatari minister of international cooperation visits Rafah

CAIRO – 26 November 2023: Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation Lulwa bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Khater visits the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing in coordination with Egypt, said Al-Qahera News on Sunday.

Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine Al-Kabbaj met with Al-Khater Sunday in Cairo. They discussed the bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries regarding the Gaza Strip.

Egypt and Qatar mediated a four-day truce between Hamas and Israel, as well as a prisoner swap deal. The truce stipulates a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza in its northern and southern parts, and the release of 50 hostages held by Hamas and 150 Palestinian prisoners.

Egypt says the Rafah land crossing remains “permanently open” for the transfer of hundreds of tons of relief and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip to support the Palestinian people.
