Egyptian Expatriate Communities Worldwide Engage in Active Dialogue with El-Sisi's Campaign

CAIRO - 20 November 2023: Three successive virtual meetings over two days were held as part of the ongoing presidential candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's official campaign's outreach to Egyptians living overseas. Counsellor Mahmoud Fawzi, the official campaign's leader, spoke with members of the American-Egyptian community.

Additionally, Egyptian expatriate groups in Australia, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Nigeria, Uganda, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Morocco were met by counsellor Mahmoud Fawzi. Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates hosted the third formal campaign meeting with representatives of Egyptian expatriate communities.

The leader of candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's electoral campaign said during these sessions that he was happy with the continuing contacts with Egyptian expats. Regarding the election procedure for Egyptians residing overseas, he paid attention to their thoughts and recommendations. He stressed that Egyptians living overseas are Egypt's soft power.

Citing successes like the conscription status programme for Egyptians abroad, he emphasised that the Egyptian government gives the case of Egyptians living abroad top priority. He applauded the work that Egyptians living overseas are doing to educate their fellow countrymen about the importance of actively voting in the next presidential elections.
