CAIRO - 20 November 2023: Egyptian Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar arrived at Al-Arish Airport Monday in preparation for receiving premature Palestinian babies at the Rafah crossing border.
 
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, revealed the Egyptian Ministry of Health’s preparations to receive “premature” newborns coming from the Gaza Strip to Egyptian hospitals.
 
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar explained that there are directives for the Ministry of Health to work on receiving premature babies from the Gaza Strip, adding: “The group of premature babies who are in Al-Shifa Hospital, we are preparing to receive them in Egypt in light of the Palestinian Hospital’s inability to provide health care to them."
 
“There are ambulances equipped in front of the Rafah crossing, carrying mobile incubators, and they have been present for several days, waiting for the arrival of premature babies through the Palestinian Red Crescent, and places in Egyptian hospitals have been prepared to receive the babies,” added the spokesperson.
 
A Cairo News Channel correspondent reported in a news story that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health, received 62 Palestinian oncology patients at Al-Arish Airport before they leave for Turkey.
 
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar had recently arrived at Al-Arish Airport in preparation for receiving Palestinian premature babies at the Rafah crossing.
 
On Tuesday, October 31, the Israeli army officially announced the expansion of the ground attack on the Gaza Strip.
 
The Israeli army said, "We are now launching an attack on Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Our goal is one, victory. No matter how long the fight lasts, and no matter how difficult it is, there is no result other than victory."
 
Around 13 thousands palestinians are believed to be killed since the beginning of the Israeli genocide on Gaza Strip.
