CAIRO – 18 November 2023: Preparations have been taken to receive a number of premature Palestinian babies to the Rafah border crossing with Gaza, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reported Al Qahera News on Saturday.

Two days ago, President Sisi instructed medical establishments to prepare for receiving Palestinian newborns from the Gaza Strip to join dozens of the critically injured, mainly children, who are lying in Egyptian hospitals.

A spokesman for hospitals in the Gaza Strip told media on Saturday that 51 patients and four premature children were killed due to the outage of electricity caused by the lack of fuel in Al Shifaa Hospital

Chief of the Egyptian Red Crescent Ramy al-Nazer told a press Thursday that the total number of aid trucks that entered the Gaza Strip, through Rafah Border Crossing, since the beginning of the crisis had amounted to 1,090 carrying a total of 18,800 tons. The shipments included food, water, medicines, medical supplies, and various equipment.
