CAIRO - 8 November 2023: A Japanese ship named "Peace Boat" with around 2,000 passengers on board is scheduled to arrive in Port Said on Wednesday, with plans to spend one day in Egypt.

‘Peace Boat’ is very interested to organize an event or press conference to show support for Palestine, and the people of Gaza under titled “Stop Killing Gaza.”

Peace Boat will hoist a 30m x 5m "Stop Killing Gaza" banner on its ship, where the banner is set to be displayed during Peace Boat's voyages to Piraeus (Nov 3), Istanbul (Nov 5) and Port Said (Nov 8-9).

Peace Boat's vessel "Pacific World" is a 77,000 ton passenger ship, carrying 1800 people onboard.

Peace Boat strongly condemns the killing of civilians and holding of hostages by Hamas, and described the indiscriminate bombardment of Gaza including hospitals, schools and residential buildings, and the restriction on water, food, fuel and aid as a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

“We strongly appeal to the world for an immediate ceasefire and the immediate supply of services and humanitarian aid to Gaza,” Peace Boat said in a report on its official website.

Peace Boat is a Japan-based international NGO working to promote peace, human rights and sustainability. Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Peace Boat World Cruises offer a unique program of activities focused on experiential learning and intercultural communication. With over 35 years of experience, we have organized around 70 voyages around the world, visiting more than 200 ports in 80 countries.

Each year, “Peace Boat” organizes three global voyages and two shorter Asian regional voyages. Over 1,000 participants visit as many as 20 different countries on our three-month global voyages.

Both onboard and in-port, Peace Boat’s programs use travel and education to explore the main aspects of peace, human rights, and sustainability.
