Egyptian FM makes phone call to his Iranian counterpart on Gaza

CAIRO – 6 November 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry made Monday a phone call to his Iranian counterpart to hold talks on preparations for the upcoming extraordinary Islamic Summit - scheduled for November 12 in Riyadh - and exchange assessments of the security and humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

Minister Shokry displayed the status of aid delivery to the strip, stressing the necessity of not expanding the scope of conflict.

The phone call is the second of its kind between the Egyptian and Iranian foreign ministers since the outbreak of fighting in Gaza on October 7 as the latter made a phone call to the former on October 22.
