CAIRO – 6 November 2023: China's Avic International will prepare in 12 months a technical and financial offer to implement the electromechanical works of an LRT that will connect Al Rehab residential compound to the New Administrative Capital's R3 neighborhood.
The company will also supply trains, and establish a maintenance workshop, a traction power station, and other substations. The line will extend on 40 kilometers, and comprise eight stations. It will connect the second phase of the fourth metro line at Al Rehab's interchange station with the Monorail at the New Capital.
For that purpose, an MoU was signed between the company and the National Tunnel Authority. In parallel, Siemens announced the start of the execution of the electromechanical works of the second and third lines of the high-speed electric train. One stretches between Giza's 6th of October City and Aswan, while the other connects together Luxor, Qena, Safaga, and Hurghada.
