CAIRO – 4 November 2023: The Israeli occupation forces have killed 9,572 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since the start of its aggression on October 7, announced the Palestinian Ministry of Health in a statement on Saturday.
More than two-thirds (73) of the deaths are women and children, the ministry added.
A total of 9,425 Palestinians (including 3,900 children and 2,509 women) have been killed in the Gaza Strip by the ongoing Israeli airstrikes, while the number of the injured in the strip reached about 26,200 people, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
The ongoing Israeli shelling have also destroyed 270 medical facilities and more than 200,000 housing units since the outbreak of the war, the ministry further noted, clarifying that “these figures do not reflect reality because many victims are still under the rubble.”
“A convoy of ambulances evacuating patients from Shifa hospital in Gaza city to the Rafah border crossing with Egypt was struck three times in the vicinity of the hospital,” said the Ministry.
So far, only 17 critically injured Palestinians were transported outside Gaza to be treated in Egypt’s Field Hospital in Arish city, the statement added.
The number of internally displaced Palestinians has been estimated at 1.5 million people, including 690,400 people sheltering in 150 UNRWA-designated emergency shelters, the ministry concluded.
