CAIRO – 3 November 2023: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is visiting Israel for the third time since the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israel war, praised Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for Egypt’s efforts in helping evacuate US nationals from Gaza through Rafah border crossing.
“I am grateful to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for Egypt’s tremendous work facilitating a mechanism for American citizens & other foreign nationals to exit Gaza. We are firmly focused on a two-state solution and reject the forced relocation of Palestinians outside of the Gaza strip,” he tweeted.

Egypt has also evacuated some of the wounded in Gaza to receive treatment in a new field hospital in Sheikh Zuweid. Meanwhile, some of the injured will be treated in El-Arish or Ismailia.
Also, Egypt evacuated hundreds of foreign and dual nationals, including Britons, French nationals, Australians, Italians and Americans.
The Israeli war in Gaza, which has continued for nearly a month, has killed more than 9,000 Palestinians and injured over 23,500 more people.
Also, around 1.4 million people have been displaced due to the Israeli air strikes, further deteriorating the humanitarian situation in the strip.
