CAIRO – 3 November 2023: The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) delivered the tenth shipment of urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing, comprising 102 trucks.
The aid included food, water, other relief aid, medicines and medical supplies, the ERC said in a statement on Friday.
El-Arish International Airport has received dozens of planes from world countries and international organizations to be delivered to Gaza since the Israeli war in the enclave started on 7 October.
Besides aid, Egypt has also evacuated some of the wounded in Gaza to receive treatment in a new field hospital in Sheikh Zuweid. Meanwhile, some of the injured will be treated in El-Arish or Ismailia.
Also, Egypt evacuated hundreds of foreign and dual nationals, including Britons, French nationals, Australians, Italians and Americans.
The Israeli war in Gaza, which has continued for nearly a month, has killed more than 9,000 Palestinians and injured over 23,500 more people.
Also, around 1.4 million people have been displaced due to the Israeli air strikes, further deteriorating the humanitarian situation in the strip.
