Egyptian, Australian FMs discuss ways of reaching ceasefire in Gaza

CAIRO – 30 October 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry exchanged with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong assessments of ways to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

That was in a phone call Monday where the Egyptian minister urged the safe, full, and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the strip.

The minister has called earlier on Monday for an immediate truce in the Gaza Strip, pointing out to the risks of Israeli expansion of its ground operations in the enclave.

This came in a phone call that Shoukry received from Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský on the escalation in the Palestinian enclave.

In a tweet on X, previously Twitter, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said that Shoukry necessitated rallying international efforts to guarantee the sustainable delivery of aid supplies to the Palestinian brethren.
