CAIRO – 20 October 2023: Al Qahera News reported Friday the reparation of the road at Rafah Crossing on the Palestinian side by Egyptian equipment in order to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip scheduled to start on Saturday, October 21.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry told CNN on Wednesday that Israel had struck the Palestinian side of Rafah Crossing four times, incurring the injury of four Egyptian workers.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres made a visit to Egypt's Rafah Friday to follow up on preparations to start the delivery of humanitarian aid Saturday. In tandem, world leaders are flocking into Egypt to attend the Cairo Peace Summit also scheduled for Saturday to discuss the developments in Gaza.

Until present, 31 countries and three international organizations have confirmed their participation. Meanwhile, scores of Egyptians are demonstrating on the streets to protest Israeli atrocities against Palestinians and the displacement of Gaza residents.
