President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received Catherine Colonna, the Foreign Minister of France, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry. In his meeting with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, President Sisi tackled latest developments in key regional issues were exchanged, especially concerning the military escalation in the Gaza Strip.
The French side presented its vision on this matter, commending Egypt's pivotal role in dealing with this vital regional issue, handling it wisely and responsibly from various political and humanitarian aspects. Both parties agreed on the gravity of the current situation, its threat to the security and stability of the region, and the necessity of preventing the expansion of the conflict. They stressed the importance of protecting civilians, preventing their targeting, and respecting international humanitarian law.
The Palestinian Ministry of Interior in Gaza confirmed on Monday that the Strip is suffering from a very severe crisis in the availability of drinking water in light of the continued Israeli aggression.
The ministry noted that the occupation has not pumped any liter of drinking water to any of the Strip’s governorates for the tenth day in a row, forcing Palestinian citizens to drink unsafe water, and this heralds a serious health crisis that threatens the lives of citizens.
On Monday, the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip announced the firing of a rocket salvo at Beersheba, in response to the Israeli occupation’s targeting of Palestinian civilians.
An informed Egyptian source denied on Monday reports that an agreement had been reached on a truce in Gaza, or that humanitarian aid had begun to enter the Strip. As Israel continues to deny a humanitarian truce in south, the number of civilians killed thus far has reached 2,808.
