Informed Egyptian source denies reports on Israel allowing aid into Gaza

CAIRO - 16 October 2023: An informed Egyptian source denied on Monday reports that an agreement had been reached on a truce in Gaza, or that humanitarian aid had begun to enter the Strip.

Many media outlets reported an agreement regarding the truce and opening the way for aid. However, there have been no indications that Israel would retreat from its aggressive, hard-line stance.

This is still the case even after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during his Sunday visit to Egypt that an agreement was close, which is what the informed Egyptian source denies.
