Only solution to Palestinian-Israeli conflict is two-state solution: Egyptian FM

CAIRO – 16 October 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Sunday a phone call from Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization Hussein al-Sheikh.

The official displayed the assessment of field and security conditions in Gaza Strip and its surroundings, especially those pertaining to the humanitarian circumstances of Palestinians who are subject to constant airstrikes, siege, evacuation calls and homelessness.

Minister Shokry asserted that Egypt would continue to deploy efforts to halt the ongoing escalation, and save the lives of innocent civilians. He added that Egypt was consulting with regional and international parties to immediately deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza residents.

The minister underlined Egypt's rejection to the termination of the Palestinian Cause by pursuing a displacement policy, and that the only solution is establishing a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 having as capital Eastern Jerusalem.
