CAIRO – 13 October 2023: The Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai work around the clock to receive international aid for Palestinians who are under Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Arish Airport in northern Sinai received a relief aid truck, Friday, coming from Turkey for the benefit of the people of the Gaza Strip. Representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent received the shipment after unloading it from the plane. The aid was loaded and stored in preparation for its delivery to Gaza.
Dr. Khaled Zaid, the head of the Egyptian Red Crescent branch in northern Sinai, stated that this is the second shipment of aid to arrive at El-Arish Airport for the people of Gaza. The first humanitarian aid shipment from Jordan to El-Arish Airport arrived yesterday, Thursday, in preparation for its delivery to the people of Gaza.
Egypt has designated Arish International Airport as the entry point for international humanitarian aid, in coordination with various international entities and organizations.
Egypt underscores the global moral and humanitarian responsibility to extend support to the Palestinian people who face grave risks.
Egypt's humanitarian initiatives reflect not only the nation's commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, but also its dedication to upholding universal values of solidarity, compassion, and support in times of crisis.
Jordan already sent a plane with humanitarian aid on Thursday, while the Iraqi government announced that it is coordinating with Egypt to send humanitarian aid to for Gaza Strip, which is suffering a catastrophe after Israel impose a full siege preventing access of water, food and electricity to the strip beside destroying an entire neighborhoods and hospitals.
