CAIRO – 10 October 2023:  Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi discussed the ongoing developments in Gaza Strip with Prime Minister of Netherlands, Mark Rutte during a phone call on Wednesday.

Sisi and Rutte also discussed the dangerous escalation between the Palestinians and Israelis over the past days.

The two sides agreed on the gravity of the current conflict, given its formidable humanitarian consequences as well as its security and political repercussions that will extend to the entire region.

President Sisi reiterated that Egypt is continuing its endeavors to advance coordinated regional and international efforts to urge all parties to adopt the path of calm and de-escalation and reduce military operations.

He emphasized that settling the Palestinian issue through just and lasting peace is the way to achieving security and stability in the region.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that the number of deaths and injuries recorded 1,055 and 5,184, respectively, including 23 and 130 in the West Bank.

The Israeli Ministry of Health has earlier announced that the number of injured at hospitals amounted to 3,007, including 373 in critical conditions. Also, 1,000 were killed, and between 100 and 150 fell hostages in the hands of Hamas.

Hamas' Qassam Brigades launched Saturday an offensive on Israeli settlements on the occupied lands by firing 5,000 missiles in 20 minutes, invoking airstrikes on Gaza Strip and incurring scores of casualties on both sides as confrontations have not ceased until present.
