Egyptians abroad to vote in person in presidential elections

CAIRO - 10 October 2023: The National Elections Authority (NEA) decided on Tuesday that Egyptians abroad will cast their votes in person in the December presidential elections. 

Egyptians abroad who  plan to partake in the elections would have to go to embassies and consulates in their countries of residence, which is expected to reduce their turnover.

In the 2020 parliamentary elections, they were able to send their ballots via mail owing to the coronavirus pandemic. 

In the 2018 presidential elections, Egyptians abroad were required to pay a visit to their embassies.
