Egypt condemns terrorist attack against soldiers in Niger

CAIRO – 4 October 2023: Egypt condemned Wednesday the terrorist attack that targeted security forces western Niger, incurring dozens of victims and injuries.

Egypt extended condolences to Niger, and stressed its fixed stance on terrorism, calling on the international community to concert efforts to combat the phenomenon.

Qaeda-linked militants ambushed soldiers near the country's borders with Mali killing 29 and injuring two. The number of assailants amounted to 100 who were riding vehicles and motorbikes, and using explosive devices and suicide bombers, as reported by Reuters.
