CAIRO – 2 October 2023: Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali al-Moselhy stated Monday that Egypt currently had 14 logistic zones securing over 50,000 direct jobs and 160,000 indirect jobs.
Assistant to the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ibrahim Ashmawy told press in August that the logistic zones and trade centers that would be established at Suez, Kafr El Sheikh, and Daqahliyah would create 15,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Ashmawy's statements came during the signing ceremony of the projects' contracts worth LE2.4 billion, asserting that further investment opportunities would be available in the coming four years. That is within the government's plan to reduce consumer prices given that the value of transport makes up 10-15 percent of the final cost.
