CAIRO – 19 September 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry chaired Monday an Arab ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), and that mainly discussed updates of the Palestinian Cause.
Minister Shokry was chairing the meeting, always held on the sidelines of each UNGA, on behalf of his Moroccan counterpart, who is president of the current session of the Arab Ministerial Council.
The Palestinian foreign minister presented developments of the Cause, and raised some points on tackling Palestinian issues at the UNGA and sub-committees. In that context, the Arab ministers underscored the necessity of coordinating Arab stances on various resolutions, particularly those pertaining to Palestine. That is to ensure support to Palestinian rights.
On his side, Minister Shokry displayed the outcomes of the ministerial meeting that comprised the European Union, Arab League, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, and that was aimed at reviving the peace process between the Israelis and Palestinians.
