Jabouri urges Egypt to play role in overcoming regional threats

BAGHDAD - 19 July 2017: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al Jabouri met on Wednesday with visiting Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

They discussed means of boosting bilateral relations in all fields, as well as the latest political and security developments in Iraq.

Egypt should play a role in overcoming regional threats and activating the language of constructive dialogue, he noted.

Jabouri also urged the Arab countries to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq after it achieved a great victory over the terrorist Daesh group.

Shoukry, for his part, congratulated Jabouri on the liberation of Mosul from Daesh.

Egypt is keen on boosting relations with Iraq to achieve common interests, he added.
