Egypt builds over 14K classrooms, 382 healthcare units in Decent Life villages

CAIRO – 7 September 2023: The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development released Wednesday reports indicating that 14,170 schoolrooms had been constructed within the first phase of the Decent Life initiative aimed at developing the countryside; in addition to 382 healthcare units and 317 ambulance service units.

 

The geographical distribution of classrooms is 2,592 in Beheira; 1,332 in Sohag; 1,283 in Menya; 1,217 in Asyut; 896 in Qena; 867 in Fayoum; 833 in Menoufeya; 780 in Beni Suef; 558 in Sharqia; 556 in Giza; 511 in Aswan; 448 in Luxor; 447 in Daqahliyah; 404 in Gharbia; 396 in Qalyoubiyah; 349 in Damietta; 325 in Kafr El Sheikh; 173 in Alexandria; 102 in the New Valley; and, 101 in Ismailiyah.

 

Those are divided into 116 schools in Beheira; 113 in Menya; 107 in Asyut; 100 in Sohag; 86 in Menoufeya; 81 in Beni Suef; 80 in Fayoum; 75 in Qena; 66 in Giza; 63 in Qalyoubiyah; 59 in Luxor; 58 in Aswan; 57 in Sharqia; 49 in Gharbia; 43 in Damietta; 38 in Kafr El Sheikh; 29 in Daqahliyah; 10 in Alexandria; seven in Ismailiyah; and five in the New Valley.

 

 

As for healthcare units, their distribution is 64 in Beheira; 55 in Sohag; 49 in Menya; 37 in Asyut; 37 in Sharqia; 28 in Qena; 22 in Menoufeya; 19 in Fayoum; 16 in Daqahliyah; 12 in Gharbia; 10 in each of Damietta ande Kafr El Sheikh; seven in each of Giza and Beni Suef; four in each of Qalyoubiyah and the New Valley; and one in Alexandria. Further, the construction of Aswan's Edfu Central Hospital is finished.

 

With regard to ambulance service units, their number is 49 in Beheira; 35 in Sohag; 25 in Asyut; 24 in Menya; 23 in Qena; 21 in Aswan; 19 in Fayoum; 16 in each of Luxor and Giza; 14 in Menoufeya; 13 in Damietta; 10 in Ismailiyah; nine in the New Valley; eight in each of Gharbia and Beni Suef; seven in each of Daqahliyah and Sharqia; six in each of Qalyoubiyah and Kafr El Sheikh; and one in Alexandria.
