CAIRO, Sept 6 (MENA) – The Arab Ministerial Committee in Support of the State of Palestine has called on Arab countries to work with effective international and regional groups to lobby for support needed to grant the State of Palestine a full membership at the UN.

Meeting in Cairo earlier Wednesday on the fringe of the 160th regular session of the Arab League Council, the committee issued a communiqué urging dialogue with countries that are yet to recognize the State of Palestine.

It also pressed for action to secure international protection for the Palestinian people against Israeli aggression and the terrorist gangs of settlers.

Arab countries should work with regional and international organizations to hold a conference on the sidelines of the 78th UN General Assembly with the aim of ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands since 1967, the committee stressed.

The committee said it is seeking coordination with the AL chief to outline mechanisms of action in line with this communiqué.
