CAIRO – 4 September 2023: Egypt will provide all forms of support to its Coptic Hospital in Kenya in order to continue providing special services to Kenyan citizens, said Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
This support includes providing the hospital with specialized medical teams, medicines and required equipment, the Egyptian Cabinet cited Madbouli as saying as he toured the hospital in Nairobi.
Kenya’s health minister said the hospital is one of the most important health institutions in Kenya at the national level.
The minister added that Kenya looks forward for cooperation with Egypt in the field of healthcare digitization and prepares an MoU for cooperation between the two countries in the healthcare fields.
The Coptic Hospital in Nairobi belongs to the Egyptian Church.
The hospital accommodates 260 beds, seven operating rooms, 18 intensive care beds, 27 units to serve newborns, including incubators, phototherapy units and warmer systems, as well as 33 dialyses units.
Through a specialized center, the hospital has provided medical services and treatment for more than 56,000 AIDS patients, the statement added.
Madbouli has made a visit to Nairobi to take part in Africa Climate Summit 2023 on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The summit is held under the title of "Driving Green Growth and Climate Finance Solutions for Africa and the World.”
During the visit, Madbouli met with Kenyan President William Ruto, where they discussed a possible forum for Egyptian and Kenyan businessmen on the sidelines of the summit.
