ACI Africa chief hails Sphinx Airport

CAIRO - 30 August 2023: Secretary General of the Airport Council International for the Africa Region (ACI Africa) Ali Tounsi commended Sphinx International Airport.


This came during his visit to Cairo in preparation for Egypt's hosting of the council's conference and exhibition, due to be held under the auspices of Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy from February 24 to March 1, 2024.

During the tour, Tounis expressed delight for having the wonderful opportunity to visit Sphinx International Airport in Cairo, which has quickly become a central hub connecting travelers to Egypt's famous archaeological sites.

The official page of the council has also praised Sphinx International Airport, especially for its commitment to sustainable development and environment protection.

The 24,000-square meter airport includes arrival and departure halls with a capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour, 10 arrival counters, 10 departure counters, 3 baggage conveyors in addition to 16 elevators, 8 escalators, 4 passenger loading bridges serving 4 aircraft, 12 gates, 2 self-booking systems, and a parking lot that accommodates 400 cars and 20 buses.
