"We call for the world to look at this war in an objective and correct way. That group wants to seize power. And, to achieve that, it committed all sorts of crimes. Citizens are being displaced, robbed, and killed. We are deploying efforts to put an end to that war. We want to make a real transitional period paving the way for the Sudanese people to hold free and fair elections to select a ruler," Burhan said.

"There are lies that the Armed Forces is fostering the former regime, Islamist and terrorist groups. Those are a scarecrow to frighten the Sudanese people," the chairman of Sudan Transitional Sovereignty Council added.

Burhan stated that he had presented to the Egyptian political leadership developments on the ground in Sudan experiencing a civil war since April. He equally expressed appreciation for the government and people of Egypt for hosting and supporting the large Sudanese community in the country.
