Potential Candidate in Egypt's Presidential Election 2024 promises economic rescue

CAIRO – 24 August 2023: Potential Candidate in Presidential Election 2024 and Chairman of Al Wafd Party Abdel Sanad Yamama stated in a phone-in Wednesday that he would not fully disclose his programme until the registration begins.

"We have not an economic reform programme. Rather, it is a rescue of the economy, a rescue of education, and a renaissance. The crisis is now beyond the need for economic reform," Yamama said.

As for the campaign funding, the politician noted that members are ready to finance his candidacy, and that large amounts had been already collected so as the surplus were added to the party's treasury.
