Egypt stresses importance of dialogue as peaceful solution to Niger crisis

CAIRO - 22 August 2023: Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Egypt is concerned about the developments in Niger, stressing the importance of dialogue to ensure a peaceful solution to Niger's crisis.

In a press release on Tuesday, the spokesman underlined Egypt's support for all efforts to defuse the crisis in a way that protects the democratic system, sovereignty and stability in accordance with the international law in order to avoid escalation that would destabilize the region.
