CAIRO - 22 August 2023: On Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Ayman Safadi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The meeting took place in the presence of Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Major General Abbas Kamel, the Head of Egypt’s General Intelligence.
Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, highlighted that the meeting was centered around the robust fraternal ties between Egypt and Jordan.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the current level of coordination between the two sides. They underscored the need to further enhance economic relations and boost trade exchanges, in line with the political ties and historical connections that bond the two brotherly peoples.
The talks also ventured into the developments regarding the Middle East peace process. Both parties exchanged views concerning the ongoing coordination between the two countries in this context. The importance of continued efforts in this direction, focusing on intensifying international endeavors to resolve the Palestinian crisis, was affirmed, basing discussions on the constants and references of international legitimacy.
