Minister of Higher Education Ayman Ashour holds a press conference to announce the results of the 1st phase of faculties placement for Thanaweya Amma students - Cabinet
CAIRO – 14 August 2023: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour held a press conference on Monday to announce the results of faculties placement for Thanaweya Amma students with highest grades.

The first phase of faculties placement, which extended from 5 to 10 August, saw students competing especially over the faculties of medicine, engineering, pharmacy, computers and information, urban planning, veterinary medicine, mass communication, economy and alsun.
Students scoring 91.34 percent or higher in the science branch could join the faculties of medicine, while the minimum grades for the dentistry, physical therapy and pharmacy faculties are 90.97 percent, 90.12 percent and 89.51 percent respectively.
Engineering and urban planning faculties have accepted students scoring 85 percent and 83.41 percent respectively or higher in the mathematics branch.
In the literature branch, the Faculty of Economics and Political Science in Cairo University have accepted scores from 84.46 percent, while the Faculty of Alsun accepted a minimum grade of 84.51 percent.
Meanwhile, the faculties of mass communication and antiquities have accepted scores from 83.65 percent and 80.73 percent respectively.
Some seats are still vacant for students of the second placement phase in the faculties of veterinary medicine, nursing, science, agriculture, computers and AI in the science and mathematics branches.
Also, the faculties of education, arts, law, specific education, Dar El-Uloom, tourism, sports, social service and home economics still have some vacant seats.
2nd tansik phase
Students of the second tansik phase can start filling their faculties preferences starting Tuesday 15 August until Saturday 19 August, said Ashour today.
Students can fill their faculty preferences online through their computers or at laboratories at different universities across the nation from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the specified timeframe.
