President Sisi orders to keep Sovereign Fund effective to optimize investment opportunities

CAIRO – 13 August 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ordered to keep the Egyptian Sovereign Fund effective to continuously strengthen its efforts for optimizing promising investment opportunities in the country, said official spokesman for the Presidency Ahmed Fahmy in a statement.

President Sisi’s directions were given during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Al-Saeed, on Sunday.

During the meeting, President Sisi was briefed on all projects and activities of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt, which aims to increase the volume of investments in Egypt, Fahmy added.

The fund focuses on priority sectors for the growth and advancement of the national economy, including digital transformation, health and education, industry and agriculture, green hydrogen, and water desalination.

The meeting also tackled all partnerships and agreements concluded by the fund with a number of Arab and international sovereign funds, and their role in providing joint investment opportunities.
