Photos: Egypt’s Haya Karima launches initiative to distribute 2 million water bottles amid hot weather

CAIRO – 12 August 2023: Haya Karima Foundation has launched an initiative dubbed “Suqia” that aims to distribute millions of water bottles to workers and people in the streets.

The first phase of the initiative includes distributing two million bottles over several days across Egypt.

The move comes amid the current heat across the various governorates and in support of the labor in all sectors.

 

Workers to be included in the initiative include those in train station development projects, brick factories and industrial workshops as well as sanitation workers.

Hayah Karima Foundation, a non-profit organization, was established in 2019 to follow up on the national initiative of Decent Life, which was then turned by the president into a national project.

Haya Karima was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi In July 2021 to develop the Egyptian countryside.

Haya Karima seeks to improve people’s living standards in the countryside, targeting around 58 percent of Egypt’s 105-million population living in thousands of villages nationwide.
