CAIRO – 7 August 2023: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended Monday Egypt's condolences to Slovenia on the victims of devastating floods that hit the country and incurred big material losses, wishing the injured a speedy recovery and expressing solidarity with the country.
Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob stated that the damages are estimated at €0.5 billion. The floods, caused by torrential rains, affected two third of the country, killing three, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).
Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs Ehab Nasr visited Slovenia in June within a European tour that was aimed at holding political consultations.
The assistant to the foreign minister convened with Slovenian state secretary for European affairs, director-general of multilateral cooperation, deputy chair of the foreign relations committee at the parliament, and state secretary at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism, and Sport.
The Egyptian diplomat congratulated Slovenia on winning a non-permanent membership at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2024-2025.
