Slight relief from heat in Cairo, northern Egypt with possible rain in the south

CAIRO – 7 August 2023: Egypt started on Monday to feel a slight relief from heat from the northern coast to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

Despite heat relief, weather remains extremely hot in major areas of the northern coast, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) says.

Greater Cairo will see highs of 36 and apparent highs of 39.

Meanwhile, light rain may fall in the south of the country, according to the EMA.

Average apparent temperatures based on the EMA expectations this week:

- Cairo and Lower Egypt – Highs: 37

- Northern coasts – Highs: 34

- South Sinai – Highs: 43

- Northern Upper Egypt – Highs: 39

- Southern Upper Egypt – Highs: 43
