CAIRO – 6 August 2023: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi held a meeting Sunday to learn about the updates of the country's economic performance which has been influenced by global challenges.
The meeting included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Hassan Abdallah, Chief of the General Intelligence Directorate (GIS) Abbas Kamel, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala al-Said, Minister of International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat, Minister of Finance Mohamed Mait, and Consultant to the President for Financial Affairs Major General Mohamed Amin.
Participants in the meeting presented the measures taken to enhance the economic status, and attract various investments. They also displayed targets for the coming period, and ongoing cooperation with various funding institutions to continue the economic reform process.
The president stipulated deploying the maximum effort to alleviate the impact of the crisis on citizens, contain burdens ensued from inflation, continue structural reforms, and bolster the role of the private sector. That is by mainly eliminating bureaucratic obstacles, and accomplishing the principle of competitive neutrality, which would contribute to the creation of a climate that is attractive to both local and foreign investments.
The president stressed that the ultimate goals are cementing the developmental gains achieved in various sectors, strengthening national economy, and raising the income levels of citizens.
