Civil Defense Forces trying to bring Awqaf Ministry fire under control

CAIRO - 5 August 2023: Civil Defense Forces are trying to put out fire that erupted at the building of the Ministry of Awqaf in downtown Cairo Saturday morning.

Ambulances and and fire brigades were dispatched to the scene.

The building is almost empty of employees, due to the relocation of the ministry to its new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, as well the coincidence of the incident with the weekend.

Meanwhile, police officers were deployed to ease the traffic jam in the vicinity of the building .
