UNHCR says over 279K people flee Sudan to Egypt

CAIRO - 2 August 2023: The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has recently reported an alarming surge in the number of individuals fleeing their homes in Sudan due to escalating violence. According to the report, more than 279,000 people have sought refuge in neighboring Egypt, painting a dire picture of the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
