CAIRO – 1 August 2023: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the State provides all possible facilitation to promote local and foreign agriculture investment.
Madbouli made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting at the cabinet's premises in New Alamein City to review the executive procedures to activate bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Italy, in the field of agriculture and agricultural industrialization, said Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayyed El Qusier, Brigadier General Hisham Ahmed Abu Mandour, the director of the production department at the National Service Projects Organization and Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hani Sewilam.
The premier lauded the growing momentum in Egyptian-Italian relations in different areas, notably the agriculture one.
He stated the Italian side requests specifying plots of lands for agriculture and linking them with agricultural industrialization, noting the government is currently working to finalize the relevant procedures.
The agriculture minister said coordination is underway with Italy's ambassador in Cairo to specify available lands for agriculture.
Qusier added his ministry coordinates with the New Egyptian Rural Development Company, the National Service Projects Organization and officials of the "Egypt's Future" project, as well as the Irrigation Ministry on the availability of water for those lands.
At the end of the meeting, the attendees agreed to communicate with the Italian side and inform it about the details of the available lands, especially as an Italian delegation will visit Egypt in the coming period to conduct on-site inspection.
