CAIRO – 31 July 2023: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Monday his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas in Al Itihadiyah Presidential Palace stressing Egypt's fixed and historic stance on the rights of the Palestinian people.
President Sisi welcomed the meeting of the Palestinian factions that was hosted in New Alamain on Sunday, as participants resumed talks on various issues with the aim of ending the state of divisiveness and restoring national unity.
On his side, President Abbas thanked the president for Egypt's hosting of the meeting, and its historic backing to the Palestinian Cause and the interests of the Palestinian people. He noted that the convention took place in light of vital developments on the field, and on the international and regional scales, representing a chance to exchange views on ways of achieving national reconciliation.
The two presidents discussed coordinating stances and visions on a number of matters pertaining to the Palestinian Cause, particularly reviving the peace process, and endeavors to establish the Palestinian state on the borders of June 5, 1967.
